The Phoenix Alumnae chapter provides volunteer opportunities for the blind and visually impaired. Over the years, the Phoenix DGs have participated in many hands-on activities involving the blind, including the performance of school vision screening, providing transportation services for the visually impaired, and volunteering hours for various blind organizations in the Phoenix area.

Fifty years ago the Phoenix Alumnae Chapter was one of three groups who were instrumental in the formation of the Blind Children's School through the establishment of the Foundation for Blind Children (FBC) in Phoenix. We have and continue to support the efforts of FBC with fundraising events and service hours. FBC has even named one of their classrooms the "Delta Gamma Classroom."

The Foundation Board of Trustees recently announced that FBC has been named our fifth Delta Gamma school for children with visual impairments. You can learn more about FBC and Delta Gamma’s involvement with the school by reading this article from the most recent edition of the ANCHORA: FBC-ANCHORA.pdf
